JOB POSTING: .5 FTE CISCO COMPUTER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position is primarily responsible for teaching computer courses and professional technical courses.Other responsibilities include curriculum development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated;
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning;
- Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of an immediate superior;
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior;
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved;
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives;
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities;
- Evaluates student progress on a regular basis;
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation;
- Assists in the upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board Policy;
- Makes provision for being available to students and parents outside the instructional day;
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings;
- Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods;
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials;
- Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities;
- Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents;
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others;
- Provides for own professional growth;
- Other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Hold or qualify for an Oregon teaching license with the proper endorsement/authorization and be considered highly qualified by the Oregon Department of Education. Work with the local instructor appraisal committee requirements to obtain a career-technical licensure (CTE) or already have a CTE license.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/CIT/IT or closely related field required with a strong computer science emphasis in CISCO from a regionally accredited college or university. Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering disciplines, other engineering disciplines considered.
- Knowledge of common programming languages, business application software, modern operating systems, networks, systems analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and effectively communicate with people
- Currency and depth of knowledge in the applicable professional field.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well with students of diverse academic, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds; gender identities, sexual orientations; and students with disabilities.
- Evidence of professional activities and service beyond the primary teaching assignment.
- Development and review of the curriculum as well as including assessment of learning.
- Demonstrated the ability to work cooperatively with others.
SALARY:
$39,621.00 - $73,544.00, 2017-2018 Salary Schedule
2018-19 Salary Schedule (Currently Negotiating)
