Ponderosa Middle School:

Grades 6th, 7th and 8th  

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:

Klamath Falls City School District is looking for a Principal to lead, implement and achieve the vision, mission and strategic goals for grades 6 – 8. The Middle School Principal will be responsible for the daily management of all middle school academic initiatives and support staff members in developing a strong school culture. Provide the on-site administration and instructional leadership of the middle school; responsible for the evaluation and supervision of all certified and classified staff, the direction of the instructional program and staff development program, the allocation of finance and human resources within school programs, the coordination of staff and student activities and facilitating successful community relations. Additionally, the principal will maintain school facilities at a level that enables teachers to meet the needs of students.

Performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience
Evidence of successful instructional leadership within a school setting. 

Licenses/Special Requirements

• Must hold or be qualified for an Oregon Administrative License through TSPC;
• A record of exemplary teaching and administrative experience;
• A record of successful community relations;
• An understanding of middle school programs, concepts and research.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three years of administrative experience to include grades 6th, 7th, and 8th ;
• Knowledge of effective schools research; best practices and evidence-based instructional strategies;
• Understanding of the Oregon State Standards, Oregon Statewide Assessment;
• Knowledge of instructional technology;
• Classroom experience at the middle school level;
• Experience with continuous school improvement, staff development, strategic planning and the middle school concept;

Salary: $103,916 - $113,618.00 (230-day contract) 2017-2018 Salary Schedule
