SUMMARY:            

To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coach’s individual participants in the fundamental and advanced skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved;

Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season;

Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present;

Models responsible behavior/acts as a role model in and out of school, student supervision;

Maintains accurate statistics, records and results of the season;

Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students;

Maintains competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques, recruiting and general information about all aspects of the sport;

Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition this sport and is consistent in establishing criteria for eligibility in competition;

Adheres to a highly efficient and technically sound program of injury prevention and follow up;

Works closely with the athletic directors in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests;

Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms;

Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records and similar paperwork;

Accounts for all equipment or delegates the responsibility;

Develops a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and media to inform the parents and the general public about the athletic program;

Manage sport budget and assistant staff;

Availability to travel for games;

Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises students of particular program.

Salary is based on extra duty salary schedule for the 2017-2018 school year $6,339, and then the 2018 -2019 Rate .

Athletic director, Scott Mason is available to answer any questions regarding season dates and schedule.

Additional requirements:

The head coach will oversee and support the high school feeder programs. This will include when possible making sure the feeder programs have the same skill development and core beliefs. When possible the head coach will introduce their offense and defense into the feeder programs.

The head coach will build a culture of winning and instill a leadership component to their coaching, the coach will attend all Positive Coaching Allience workshops.

The coach will work in partnership with other head coaches in building a culture of winning with honor, develop positive leadership and support other school sports in building their success.
