Paraprofessional - Title 1

Function:                   

To assist the classroom teacher in math and reading interventions, provide supports for trauma impacted students.

Responsibilities:        

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, Title I Specialist and Title I Supervisor assist students with instructional material;

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, Title I Specialist and Title I Supervisor, work with small groups of students to reinforce students’ classroom program;

Clerical and record keeping tasks necessary to support the Title I Program;

Assist with student supervision and duties as assigned;

Provide support in social/emitional areas and behavior skills;

Create a comforting relaxing setting for students to refocus and return to the general education classroom;

Maintain data and record keeping as needed;

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma/equivalent;          

Associates Degree or pass paraprofessional skills testing prior to employment;

Experience working with children;

Clerical skills (Typing, filing, computer knowledge preferred);

The employee is expected to be dressed and groomed in a neat, clean and appropriate professional manner for the assignment and work setting.

Salary:

$11.32

Schedule:

4 hour per day/181 days per year (days to be prorated to reflect actual start date).
