Secondary EL Community Parterships and Post-Secondary Success Liaison
Function:
To provide ongoing supports empowering students to successfully complete their educational objectives and graduate from high school in preparation for college and career.
Responsibilities:
This position will support our EL students in grades 9-12 in a variety of ways including admissions, registration, student success, academic one-on-one tutoring, senior project support, vision casting for post-secondary options, and creating partnerships and internships with community organizations.
This position will support high-risk second language learners and advocate for students while partnering them with community supports to ensure their success.
Requirements:
High school diploma/equivalent;
Associates Degree or pass paraprofessional skills testing prior to employment;
Experience working with high school aged students;
Ability to support EL students with post-secondary registration processes;
Ability to support EL senior project requirements;
Ability to tutor students in advanced high school level subjects;
Clericial skills (computer skills including keyboarding, data base applications, filing, and report completion tasks);
Friendly and supportive attitude;
The employee is expected to be dressed and groomed in a neat, clean, and appropriate manner for the assignment and work setting.
Schedule:
3 hours per day/181 days per year (days to be prorated to reflect actual start date).
