21st CCLC AFTER-SCHOOL CURRICULUM DEVELOPER/ MENTOR COACHES –K-8 CURRICULUM AREAS: ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS, SCIENCE, AND PE.
Position:
CURRICULUM DEVELOPER AND MENTOR/ COACHES – 3 POSITIONS
Sites include: Conger, Mills, Pelican, Ponderosa, and Roosevelt.
Function:
21st CCLC After-School Program Curriculum developers and mentor coaches will develop curriculum, scope, and sequence for PE. Math and Language Arts will align with existing K-8 curriculum.
Coaches/Mentors will provide small group and individualized curriculum implementation and instructional strategies for after school academic and enrichment instructors.
Coaches/Mentors will focus on creating high impact curriculum and instructional support. Coach/Mentor will conduct classroom observations
Curriculum Developer and Mentor/Coach Support to Include:
Curriculum for PE, Math, and Language Arts: (Aprox. 25 hours)
Whole Group Trainings: K-8 last working Wednesday of every month (1 hr./ once a month= total 8 hrs)
Whole Group Trainings Preparation: (Approx. 2 hours per month * 8 months= 16 hours)
Individualized Instructor Mentoring/Observation site training: (Approx.1 hr. a week, total of 28 hours for 28 weeks.)
Total hours over the 2017/2018 program year are up to 30-70 hours depending on curriculum area.
Requirements:
Hold a current Oregon teaching license through Teacher Standards and Practices Commission with proper endorsement/authorization and be considered highly qualified by the Oregon Department of Education preferred but will accept previous experience if not licensed. Experience teaching K-8 students in specific areas required.
Salary:
Hourly rate $14.00-$ 26.07 Depending on degree and hours
Schedule:
Flexible Weekly Work Schedule- must keep monthly time and effort log
Program Dates: September 18, 2017 -May 25, 2018
Anticipated start date: August 23, 2017
