FUNCTION:

Perform all functions of carpentry and cabinet work.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Maintain all buildings in a safe condition;

Complete building repairs and budget items as necessary;

Perform all related carpentry and cabinet skills;

Working knowledge of small equipment as well as back hoe, trucks, snow plow, etc;

Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

Completion of an apprenticeship either through the State of Oregon or any other state or through a private company or business equivalent to four years experience;

Knowledge of all aspects of carpentry, framing, sheet rock, installing doors, windows, finish work and cabinetry.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Class B CDL driver’s license with good driving record;

Must be able to obtain CPR;

1st aid and forklift certifications;

Applicator’s certification.

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to pass a district written and physical test; Knowledge of carpentry skills and related tools; Ability to do strenuous work for prolonged periods; Ability to work in confined spaces and must be able to work alone; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community; Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and finger to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climbs on to ladders. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.

 

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. such as cleaning supplies, pails, and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 lbs such as salt and bulk furniture. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, bleachers or scrubbing machines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

SALARY:

$20.43 - $22.53 Per Hour, 2016-17 Salary Schedule

2017-18 Salary Schedule (Currently Negotiating)

 

SCHEDULE:

8 Hours a Day/260 Days a Year

 

This position will be posted until June 23, 2017 at minimum or until
