Athletic Support Staff

Function:                  

The Athletic Support Staff is responsible for the care, prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with coaches and athletes to observe signs and symptoms of injury or illness and suggest referral to a physician or clinic;

Prepare student athletes for practices by taping and providing preventative measures and techniques;

Through observation at practices and games be aware of athletes possible physical limitations;

Be available to coaches and athletes an appropriate time before and after practices and games; (determined by supervisor)

Act as a liaison between physicians, coaches, parents and the school;

Attend games as assigned priority by Athletic Director where the greatest incidence of injury is most likely to occur;

Assist visiting teams with first aid needed;

Maintain and supervise the training supplies and facilities;

Maintain appropriate records as required;

Supervise proper reconditioning of athletes who are under a physician’s care;

Work with supervisor on budget;

Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.

Preferred Requirements:          

High school graduate or equivalent experience;  Experience as an athletic trainer;  College course work as an athletic trainer;  Athletic trainer certification; and Current state of Oregon Athletic Trainer License.

Requirements: 

CPR/First Aid certification and medical field background.

Salary:          

$2,000.00 per season (Fall, Winter and Spring)

July 2017 – June 2018
