Position:

EL/ELD Teacher/AVID Excel (.5 FTE)

Function:

* To teach the AVID Excel elective course for Long-term English Language Learners and oversee the implementation of AVID Excel at the Middle School Level.

* Participate in on-going trainings for AVID Excel. 

* Work closely with the AVID District Director and EL Coordinator

* Coordinates the collection of data/evidence and uses AVID resources to monitor progress across grade levels

* Submits data to the AVID District Director and EL Coordinator

* Teach ELD at the Middle school level.

* Work with English Language Learners to provide support that empowers students to successfully complete their educational objectives

* Meet monthly with the EL Transformational Team

* Facilitate AVID Excel events during the school year; family nights, end-of-year recognition, transitional events, college visits

Requirements:

*  Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred

*  Fluent in oral and written communication in English

*  Excellent skills in interpersonal communications and trouble-shooting

*  Ability to work effectively with a variety of people 

*  Flexible thinker

*  Demonstrate understanding of issues confronting Long-term English Language Learners 

*  Must have proficienct computer word processing and data entry skills (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Excel, Word, etc.)

*  Oregon teaching license through TSPC with ESOL endorsement

Salary:

2016 - 2017 Certified Salary Schedule $19,233.50 - $35,701.00 at .5 FTE

2017-2018 Certified Salary Schedule currently being negotiated
