FUNCTION: Perform a variety of office duty tasks such as answering the phone, scheduling appointments, photocopying, filing, opening and distributing mail, and other duties necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the Migrant Summer School. Establish and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with all school staff and the public.
Schedule: June 19th - June 30th
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Summer School Coordinator in assistance with administrative functions;
Make decisions independently in accordance with established policy;
Responsible for student attendance, new student registrations, registration cards, student transfers, state reports, and all student records;
Assist certified and classified staff;
Assist with student supervision in the office and throughout the school;
Maintain inventories of general supplies;
Maintain accurate time sheets for payroll;
Coordinate a variety of programs and activities as assigned (e.g. substitute teachers, meetings, in-service day activities, workshops, ceremonies, field trips, etc.);
Administer approved medications and first aid to sick and/or injured children;
Assist and/or orient volunteers and new site personnel regarding school and district practices;
Keep student information confidential;
Possess and exhibit an upbeat positive attitude;
Develop positive working relationships with students, staff, families, and visitors;
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each duty.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Three years clerical experience or combination of experience and training preferred.
